IT industry challenges

I wish, I had known these facts about the IT industry, during my college days:

  1. It doesn’t matter which programming language you begin with. You might have to switch multiple languages in your career, based on the demand of your project.
  2. Software Engineering is much more than just coding.
  3. Soft skills will become more vital than technical skills as you move up the IT ladder.
  4. Learning will never stop. You must always remain up-to-date to stay in the ever-evolving IT industry.
  5. As you grow, you will start prioritizing better work culture over salary.
  6. Taking interviews is much more than just asking questions. Did I miss anything? Keep adding in the comment section.
  7. I wish I knew the difference between service-based companies and product-based companies.
  8. I wish I knew that the community in software development and networking matters a lot
  9. I wish I knew that everything is temporary not every job, project, and everything is permanent.
  10. I wish I knew that a few IT places have more job opportunities than the current ones in home-based.
  11. There are lots more differences between getting and giving an Interview job process in India and other countries.
  12. I wish I knew that a DSA is a crucial part of going into FAANG
  13. I wish I knew that others’ opinion matters for the career path to whom we are working.
